Also count on a coupon packet with deals at other places. The offerings for next season have not been set, but this season's coupons included such things as $10 off dinner at Brewer's Art; 10 percent off dinner bills at B&O American Brasserie and Mari Luna Bistro; discounts for Everyman and Center Stage tickets; and two-for-one admission at the Babe Ruth Birthplace and Sports Legends museums.
New subscribers get a bonus before next season: a free ticket to a remaining concert this season, "so the experience of being a subscriber begins immediately," Andrews said. Each February is "subscriber appreciation month," which brings beverage vouchers, and subscribers receive offers periodically to bring two friends free to a concert.
The BSO is happy to sell a subscription for 10 or 12 concerts, but most packages are for fewer. Series of five and six concerts are priced from $125 to $342. In addition to fixed-night series, the BSO offers a "choose your own" series of any six concerts.
"People like to mix and match," Andrews said. "It's driven by the programming. They don't care what day the performance is."
Mini-subscriptions and other offers will be announced as the next season approaches and after it starts. New subscriptions are on sale now. Call 410-783-8000 or go the BSO's website.
