BASKERSFIELD — Three Imperial Valley wrestlers are still alive in the CIF State championships here today.

Brawley Union High’s Vincent Elizalde and Lonzie Osuna, Central Union High’s Micah Perez are alive in today’s action.

Elizalde, wrestling at 108 pounds, lost in the quarterfinals, 12-11, to finish 3-1 in the first day of competition here Friday.

He has the opportunity to finish in the top eight in his division and the best he can do is finish third.

Osuna (134) lost his first match Friday and then won four straight to finish 4-1 and continue his season today.

Perez (122) is in the same situation today, having finished 3-1 on Friday.

Also, Brawley’s Isaac Moreno went 0-2 at 115 pounds, Holtville heavyweight Lance Angulo finished 1-2 and Jose Sandoval (222) went 2-2.
