A While we wholeheartedly agree that staying cool during the height of the summer is essential to an individual’s well-being, this recommendation may be untenable for logistical reasons.
Currently, normal mall operating hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday. While those hours may not appeal to every shopper’s schedule, it is not likely to change anytime soon, we’re told.
When one considers the logistical planning needed to implement Black Friday operating hours at the mall, the difficulties involved with extending hours of operation for the mall’s various retail outlets become apparent, said CBL & Associates Properties spokeswoman Jessika Alexander.
Any change to normal operating hours typically requires the approval of a retail store’s corporate office, Alexander said. As she alluded to in the case of Black Friday operating hours, getting one, some or all retail outlets on the same page is quite challenging.
While she expressed interest in the concerns and suggestions of all customers, Alexander expressed doubts that extending summer hours of operation is feasible.
