Two Home Depot supervisors were arrested Feb. 19 on charges of embezzlement.

The estimated loss is about $15,000, said El Centro police Cmdr. Jeff Mason.

The arrest followed an investigation conducted by Home Depot’s internal security team after it was informed of potential embezzlement, possibly occurring since September. The investigation identified three supervisors, Mason said. After reviewing the evidence, El Centro police officers arrested two people, he said.

El Centro residents Richard Velasquez, 35, and Silvia Telleria, 28, were booked at the county jail and later released.

The Police Department is seeking an arrest warrant for the third suspect, whose whereabouts are unknown, Mason said.
