A man was booked into the Imperial County jail after being suspected of spousal abuse following an incident where his wife’s arm was broken early Sunday, according to El Centro police call logs.
Authorities received a call shortly before 2 a.m. to the 1700 block of Main Street, and a woman was found on the ground with a broken arm.
Jerry Crutcher, 50, was arrested, and the woman was treated by Gold Cross.
Purse stolen from shopper
A Wal-Mart customer reported that a man took her purse and ran away about 2 a.m. Sunday, according to El Centro police call logs.
A couple of witnesses tried to chase the suspected robber, but authorities were unable to locate the suspect involved.
A Hispanic male, about 30 years old, 5 feet 4 inches, thin, and last seen wearing a dark checkered hooded sweater and jeans is being sought by authorities in relation to the incident.
Possible injuries in single vehicle crash
A car sustained major front end damage, and at least one person was airlifted to medical treatment on Interstate 8 just east of Dogwood Avenue early Sunday, according to El Centro police call logs.
The call originally came in as a possible rollover, and injuries were unknown. No more information was immediately available.
Woman’s wheelchair breaks, police help
El Centro police helped an elderly woman home after her motorized wheelchair broke down near Holt and Waterman avenues Friday evening, according to El Centro police call logs.
The call came in around 8:47 p.m., and police transported both the woman and her broken wheelchair home.
