LOS ANGELES (KTLA) -- Rain is expected to move into Southern California late Tuesday, but the storm may be weaker than originally expected.
The system is staying mostly parallel to the coast, but some showers are expected to move onshore as the day progresses.
Most areas will see about 1/10" to 1/4" of rain, which could inconvenience the evening commute.
The coastal areas and some of the foothills will see the most rain.
The main surge of rain is expected to stay out over the Pacific, then move south and slide through Baja California.
The weather system was forecast to bring 20 to 30 mph winds to Los Angeles County mountains, with some gusts of up to 60 mph along the Interstate 5 Grapevine corridor.
Snow levels will remain relatively high in the local mountains -- about 6,500 feet.
Temperatures are expected to be below average on Tuesday, with an afternoon high of 66 degrees forecast for Los Angeles.
The afternoon high in the Inland Empire is expected to be about 64 degrees.
A few sprinkles could continue into Wednesday morning, and then the weather will be dry all the way into the weekend.
Temperatures will climb into the mid-70s in Los Angeles on Thursday and Friday.
The weekend forecast calls for temperatures in the low-70s for the San Fernando Valley.
The O.C. Beaches will stay in the low to mid-60s, and the Inland Empire will see temperatures in the mid to high-60s.
