Timothy Q. Mouse, the character who stood guard above the Dumbo the Flying Elephant ride, is no longer there. The popular ride, which eventually will have a twin running alongside it, has been redesigned without Timothy, who appeared in 1941's "Dumbo."
He'll be back, says Imagineer Chris Beatty, creative director of the Fantasyland expansion.
"He will make a reappearance when we're done," Beatty says. Disney World is not the kind of place that's unkind to rodents.

A lot of things will make more sense when the new Fantasyland is complete, although Disney has not revealed a specific time frame. Phase I debuted Monday.
There are hints of the future already built into Storybook Circus. Go to the restrooms and see that an array of railway tracks is leading somewhere — even into the bathrooms. And footprints from animals, including giraffes, camels and monkeys, left in the sidewalk will lead to other Fantasyland attractions once everything is open, Beatty says.
Also in the walkways are peanuts and banana impressions. Bananas? They belong to Goofy's new monkey sidekick incorporated into the Barnstormer queue (Check out the posters). The monkey does not have a name yet, Beatty says.
And the landscaping? Beatty assures there will be more shade in new Fantasyland.
"There's going to be a ton of trees," he says.
