A court hearing for a Central Union High School teacher and two co-defendants charged with possession of drugs and explosives was pushed back Wednesday until Feb. 22.
Defense attorney Raj Singh appeared on behalf of Lance Korten, who represents social studies teacher Mike Kelsoe. Singh requested the continuance in order to address the case involving the two other defendants as a “package deal.”
Kelsoe — who was released on his own recognizance — and defendants Donald Lee and Alan Fjeldsted were all arrested Jan. 21 in Imperial. Authorities reported they found a quantity of methamphetamine, .50 caliber machine gun rounds and spent firearm casings in Kelsoe’s Chevrolet Avalanche.
All three defendants face charges of possession of a destructive device as well as possession of a destructive device near a school. The arrest was made near Imperial High School.
