EL CENTRO - A motorist was taken to El Centro Regional Medical Center following a 6 p.m. collision Monday near the intersection of Imperial Avenue and Bradshaw Road.
Police said a minivan heading east on Bradshaw Road turned onto southbound Imperial Avenue and clipped a Chevrolet Impala. The Impala was traveling south on Imperial Avenue, police said.
The collision is being investigated.
Police responded to call of shots heard
EL CENTRO - Police received a 3:18 a.m. call Monday about three gunshots heard in the 1700 block of Adams Avenue from a person who reported noticing a man wearing a white shirt and light-colored pants riding a bicycle.
However, when officers checked the area and spoke with three people they were told that nothing was heard or anything suspicious occurred.
Car fire reported
EL CENTRO - It was reported that on Monday at about 12:12 a.m. a car struck a post at La Brucherie Road and Villa Avenue but police determined that the vehicle actually hit a curb and caught fire, according to a log entry at the El Centro Police Department.
Two unidentified people were taken to El Centro Regional Medical Center but the entry provided no information as to why they were sent there or what the extent of their injuries were at the time of the early morning incident.
Woman arrested for public drunkenness
El CENTRO - Police responded to a 9:14 p.m. call Sunday about a woman reported in a log entry as being extremely intoxicated, who was upset when the bartender at the Hard Luck Tavern on Main Street refused to serve her.
Despite attempts by the woman’s friend, she refused to leave and was arrested for battery on a peace officer and public drunkenness. The log entry at the ECPD identified the suspect as 33-year-old Esmeralda Sanchez.
Theft of bicycle reported
NILAND - The theft of a bicycle at the end of the north side of Tank Road was reported Sunday at 3:39 p.m.
A man identified by the Imperial County Sheriff’s Office as Bryan Riggs was booked on suspicion of receiving stolen property.
