BRAWLEY - Trung K. Vo, a 29 year-old Asian male from Alabama was arrested Sunday for attempting to burglarize a residence in the 4500 block of Kalin Road, said Imperial County Sheriff’s Sgt. James Duran.
The incident took place about 12:55 p.m. when an alarm call was made.
A deputy arrived to the residence shortly after and saw that a rear window was broken into. He then secured the perimeter and waited for back up, Duran said.
More deputies arrived, determined that the alleged burglar was still in the house and surrounded the house.
“We didn’t have to break in the house to get him out,” said Duran, because “after numerous requests for the subject to come out, he finally complied.”
Vo was arrested for burglary and booked into county jail.
WINTERHAVEN - Assault outside Paradise Casino
Three men pulled another man out of his parked vehicle in the Paradise Casino parking lot here and assaulted him in the early hours of Sunday, according to Imperial County Sheriff’s call logs.
The man was taken into the casino with the help of an employee after the incident was reported at 12:24 a.m.

A subject carrying a bag with 9.64 grams of hallucinogenic mushrooms was arrested Saturday night.
The incident was reported at 10:59 p.m., according to Imperial County Sheriff’s call logs, when a male driving a 1998 beige Toyota Tacoma was arrested by Border Patrol agents assigned to the Highway 86 checkpoint.
The subject was booked into Imperial County jail, the logs read.
