EL CENTRO - Police here arrested a suspect at gunpoint Wednesday night on allegations that he pointed a gun — that ended up being fake — at someone during a heated argument at a motel on Adams Avenue, according to a log entry at the El Centro Police Department.
Officers responded to the American Inn in the 1200 block of Adams Avenue after receiving a 9:39 p.m. call from the person who said the suspect, identified as 27-year-old Jose Raul Gavina, pointed what looked like a gun at her.
Gavina was found to have an arrest warrant out of Imperial County, the entry reported, and he was arrested.
