HEBER — When Martha Gonzalez had her morning walks along the canal near Pitzer Road, she recalls seeing the sunrise and the sky filled with colors.
“It was a wonderful thing that you can’t see in cities anymore,” she said in Spanish.
But the last time she had her walk and got near her house on Meridian Street, she saw trash under trees on the empty lot.
