Afew hundred Mexicali residents swarmed City Hall to celebrate the Liga MX Apertura 2012 win by the Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente on Thursday. Only a few players from the team showed along with Club President Jorge Hang Inzunza, promising to bring the entire squad back in January for a celebration. Tijuana beat Toluca, 4-1, on aggregate, winning 2-1 at home Sunday and 2-0 in Toluca the past week. Xolos won the title after only one year in the Liga MX, the shortest time any Mexican team has won it after being promoted in Mexican history.
