WINTERHAVEN — Winterhaven residents with misdemeanor court matters will be able to address them once a month locally under a new schedule, officials said.

Court will be held on the third Thursday of each month with arraignment hearings on misdemeanor offenses scheduled for 9 a.m. and case reviews heard at 9:30 a.m. for defendants who are out of custody.

Local residents have had to travel to Calexico’s court for their needs in handling their misdemeanor cases.

Winterhaven residents who have posted bond or was released on their own recognizance on a misdemeanor case would have to appear on the court date listed as follows: April 19, May 17, June 21, July 19, Aug. 16, Sept. 20, Oct. 18, Nov. 15 and Dec. 20.

Defendants with a warrant and who would like to be placed on the court calendar can go to Winterhaven court two days before the next court date or call 760-336-3565.
