Irenda Rios, the woman accused of feloniously stalking El Centro City Councilman Jason Jackson and vandalizing his vehicle, was ordered back in court Friday for a pre-trial hearing April 24.
A preliminary hearing that would determine whether there is enough evidence to have Rios stand trial on the charges is set May 4.
Prosecuting attorney Jodi Miller said that the two-year restraining order placed on Jackson in a separate civil matter would have no impact on the criminal matter Rios is being prosecuted for.
The case is moving forward, Miller said.
Rios had been released from jail after posting bail. Jackson did not appear in court. Rios is being represented by defense attorney Lance Korten.
The restraining order prohibits Jackson from having any contact with Rios, who had been in a sexual relationship with him as revealed in prior courtroom testimony in March.
