EL CENTRO - A Hispanic male in his 20s was stopped from burglarizing a vehicle near the 1000 block of El Centro Avenue on Tuesday night.
The incident was reported around 11 p.m., according to El Centro police call logs, which note that the suspect was able to break one window before the reporting party’s boyfriend chased him away.
The subject was last seen on a bicycle riding east on El Centro Avenue, and pictures were taken, the logs read.

Man loses $7,000 in wire fraud
About $7,000 was reported stolen from a resident through wire fraud.
The incident was reported Tuesday afternoon, according to El Centro police call logs. The man reported that he sent money through Western Union and Money Gram to a fraudulent company to claim a lottery winning.
No further information was available.

Drug paraphernalia found in CUHS locker room
A 3-inch smoking pipe and a 5-inch clear plastic bottle containing marijuana were found in the girls’ locker room at Central Union High School on Tuesday.
Police got the report around 10:30 a.m., according to the logs.
The marijuana and the pipe were placed into evidence for destruction.
