SALTON CITY - Highway 86 was closed around 2:20 p.m. Monday for northbound traffic after a motorcyclist was hit by a vehicle near the Border Patrol checkpoint, according to Imperial County Sheriff’s Office call logs.
The logs indicate that a fire resulted, but didn’t list any further details.
False bomb threat
A man riding a bike was reported to be carrying a bomb Monday near the 3000 block of Norm River Drive.
The incident took place around 2 p.m. after the reporting party indicated that a man was panhandling for money, according to Imperial County Sheriff’s call logs.
But the man wasn’t a carrying a bomb.
The reporting party called about a “bum” not a bomb, according to the logs.
Store employees threatened
EL CENTRO - A man pressed the alarm of a business in the 1000 block of South Imperial Avenue and then threatened to kill everyone with a gun he supposedly had Sunday afternoon.
The incident was reported at 2:44 p.m., while the man was walking around the business, talking to himself and throwing items around, according to El Centro Police Department call logs.
The man was arrested by the police and booked in county jail after as he exited the store, according to the logs.
