EL CENTRO - A caller reported that a washer and dryer were taken from the 100 block north of 11th Street sometime between April 4 and Monday. The caller said the house was vacant for two months while she is in the process of moving.
At this time, El Centro police don’t have any suspect information.
Man violates restraining order
EL CENTRO - A 39-year-old man allegedly violated a restraining order against him and assaulted the mother of his three children in the 200 block of Gregory Lane, according to police logs.
The incident was reported Tuesday at 11:31 p.m. The log entry showed that the man has made threats to kill himself and his children in the past few months.
Authorities said that an arrest has not been made.
Woman charged with drug possession, child endangerment
EL CENTRO - A 23-year-old Brawley woman was arrested Tuesday after a traffic stop led to the discovery of an ounce of methamphetamine in her purse, El Centro police reported. The drug was worth an estimated $1,200, according to police.
Officers stopped a red Toyota truck near Fourth and Main streets being driven by Casandra Fausto about 8 p.m.
After being issued a citation for a traffic infraction, Fausto agreed to a search of her vehicle, a press release stated. A subsequent search of the vehicle with the aid of a canine revealed the narcotic.
Her 24-year-old boyfriend and their 3-year-old son were also in the vehicle, police stated. Fausto was booked on possession and transportation of methamphetamine for sale and child endangerment. Her boyfriend and child were picked up by a relative. She is in custody at the Imperial County jail with bail set at $100,000, the press release stated.
