SAN DIEGO - A 34-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of killing her 4-year-old son, San Diego police said.
Patricia Corby was booked Saturday night into Las Colinas Detention Center for women, said Lt. Ernie Herbert. Corby flagged down a patrol sergeant driving out of the San Diego Police Department Northwestern Division sub-station parking lot at 9:45 a.m., he said.
She asked for help and directed the sergeant to her parked car, Herbert said. The sergeant saw the child was not breathing, began CPR and medics determined the child was deceased when they arrived.
"The investigation has revealed Corby took her son's life inside their apartment in the Torrey Hills area of Carmel Valley, then brought him to the police station,'' Herbert said. Corby was the boy's primary care provider since the father was at work at the time of the crime.
Police would not release the motive for the crime.
No cause of death was released.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the San Diego police Homicide Unit, at (619) 531-2293, or Crime Stoppers, at (888) 580-8477.
