Man burned badly after sand rail flips, catches fire in Glamis

GLAMIS – A man was flown out by air ambulance to be treated for extensive burns after a sand rail flipped and its fuel tank leaked before catching fire on Monday, according to authorities.

The call came in around 5:45 p.m. regarding the accident, and multiple agencies including Imperial County Sheriff’s Office, Brawley Fire Department, Bureau of Land Management, Gold Cross, and REACH responded.
