All five people involved in Tuesday’s traffic collision near the intersection of Highway 98 and Pulliam Road south of Seeley received potentially major injuries, according to statement from the California Highway Patrol.

Those in the collision complained of pain in a number of areas, including the head, back, neck and abdomen. 

According to the report, Calexico resident Juan Torresmelero, 24, was driving east on Highway 98 approaching Pulliam Road. Calexico resident Yolanda Galaz, 55, was driving west on Highway 98 approaching Pulliam Road. Torresmelero turned left onto Pulliam Road, and both cars collided head-on.

Torresmelero and his passengers, Mexico residents 38-year-old Juan Jimenez, 26-year-old Sarai Alvarez and 26-year-old Esa Ramirez were air-lifted from the scene. Galaz was transported by ambulance to El Centro Regional Medical Center.
