Tessera Solar has sold its Imperial Valley Solar project.
The company announced today that the project will now be part of AES Solar, a joint venture between the AES Corporation and Riverstone Holdings, according to a press release. AES Solar develops, finances, constructs, owns and operates utility-scale solar power plants.
AES Solar intends to move the project forward and is committed to working with San Diego Gas & Electric to fulfill its obligations under the power purchase agreement, according to the press release from Tessera Solar.The project has faced problems in the form of a lawsuit with the Quechan tribe. A hold was put on construction in December.
