BRAWLEY --- A man could face charges for his alleged connection to the attempted kidnapping of a 13-year-old boy near Del Rio School last week.
Brawley Police arrested Armando Meraz, 40, who was positively identified, and booked him into the Imperial County jail, according to a press statement issued today.
Meraz's alleged victim was walking to school Friday when he was allegedly grabbed by Meraz, who then made sexually explicit comments to him. The boy someone got away, ran to school and told officials what happened, the statement reported.
Officers checking the area located Meraz a few blocks away and arrested him. Brawley Police did not make the news public until today despite attempts to find out if anything of significance occurred during that day.
