El Centro Police stopped a car carrying a stabbing victim on Sunday on its way to El Centro Regional Medical Center.
The victim was a 33-year-old resident of Holtville. He was found to be in critical condition and was taken to surgery, according to a press release from the El Centro Police Department.
Police are hoping to get more information about the stabbing, but because of the condition of the victim there were unable to get information on Sunday.
Officers did interview the driver of the vehicle, and a few other people, but so far police have been unable to determine where and why the stabbing took place.
"The victim is now in stable condition, and our detectives hope to interview him today or tomorrow and develop leads on this stabbing," said Cmdr. Jeff Mason with the El Centro Police Department.
