Imperial County Clerk Chuck Storey is again asking the courts to intervene in the gay marriage ban case that may head back to the federal appeals court.
A motion, filed on Storey’s behalf by the law firm Advocates for Faith and Freedom, asks that the local be allowed to intervene in the case as a defendant-appellant for Proposition 8, the voter-approved same-sex marriage ban. The brief, filed Tuesday, comes as the backers of the proposition filed a petition for the federal appeals court to review a split decision by three judges that struck down Prop. 8.
More information will be available in Wednesday’s edition of the Imperial Valley Press.
