Thousands from schools, hospitals and businesses participated in this morning's Great California Shakeout, a statewide earthquake drill.

According to the event Website 41,223 people in Imperial County participated. The event happened at 10:21 a.m. today.

The biggest group of participants was schools, which had 39,913 participants around the county, according to the Web site. Pioneer Memorial Hospital also had about 250 people participate.
