A Voter Registration Drive will be held this Saturday morning and volunteers are encouraged to help, a national Latina organization announced.

The drive will take place at Jalisco’s restaurant, located on Imperial Avenue next to Vons in El Centro. The purpose of this drive is to encourage all those eligible to register to vote, reads a MANA de Imperial Valley press statement.

Volunteers are encouraged to come in at 8:30 a.m. and the registration drive will start at 9 a.m.

“Mana de Imperial Valley empowers Latinas through leadership development, community service and advocacy,” said MANA president Alicia Armenta through a statement. “What better way to empower our community than encouraging individuals to register to vote in elections and actively participate in the democratic process.”

The last day to register to vote for the upcoming June 5th election is May 21st.
