A school in Holtville was closed and a few homes were without water after a water line broke on the east side of town.
Public works crews have contained the water line break on E. Seventh Street between Maple and Walnut avenues where a hole has been dug out of the sidewalk area to reach the pipeline, said Alex Chavez, underground utilities supervisor for the city. The water line broke around 11 a.m. and led to Finley Elementary School being closed.
