BRAWLEY — Three incumbents of the City Council here retained their seats Tuesday, according to preliminary final election results.
Mayor Don Campbell and councilmen George Nava and Ryan Kelley won decisively with all 11 precincts counted and 5,259 votes tallied.
There remains absentee and provisional ballots yet to be counted.
Campbell won a third four-year term to the council with 1,518 votes, or 28.86 percent of the vote.
Nava, who sought his second term on the council, garnered 1,404 votes, or 26.70 percent of the vote.
Kelley, who also sought a second term, received 1,363 votes, or 25.92 percent of the vote.
Ramon Castro, who ran for the first time for public office, received 974 votes, or 18.52 percent of the vote.
Kelley said he was pleased with Tuesday night’s results and that Measure K won approval.
“I’m happy that the city gave us another opportunity to help Brawley move forward,” Kelley said of his win and that of the two other incumbents.
“We are now mindful of how the course is going to be set,” Kelley said.
