The Water Conservation Advisory Board held its first meeting after the death of a board member last week.
Raul Rodriguez Jr., 53, died Saturday after a short battle with cancer. He was a board member of various organizations such as the Imperial Grain Growers, the Imperial Valley Farm Bureau, U.S. Department of Agriculture and the IID water conservation board.
WCAB members expressed their sadness over Rodriguez’s passing, including a unanimous vote on a resolution to thank Rodriguez for his service to the board and farm services in the Imperial Valley.
Board member Mark McBroom asked the board to keep Rodriguez’s family in their prayers.
“He’ll be missed,” McBroom added.
