AOTW: Joseph Guler

Brawley Union High junior Joseph Guler has been working toward accomplishing one goal for the past two seasons and that was to be a CIF champion.

On Saturday he accomplished that goal when he won the 197-pound weight class to be crowned the CIF-San Diego Section Division IV champion.

What do you enjoy most about your sport?

The thing I enjoy the most about wrestling would be just being myself on the mat and knowing I can blame no one but myself for my mistakes.


What is one of your more memorable moments in your sport?

My most memorable moment would be winning CIF this past weekend.

Tell us about someone who inspires you and why?

The person who inspires me the most would have to be my older brother because he keeps on pushing me to succeed and without him I wouldn’t be where I’m at right now.

What is your goal in your sport this season?

This season my goal is to be a state qualifier and succeed at the state tournament.
