LAS VEGAS — The Imperial Valley Flipz All-Star cheer program didn’t need lady luck to fare well at the JAMZ All-Star Nationals here this past weekend — it was pure hard work.
The Flipz Cyclones (junior level 3) won its division in the two-day competition.
“In the past two weeks, Cyclones have worked tirelessly to perfect and improve not only the elements of their routine but their team unity and sportsmanship as well,” Flipz head coach and owner Desiree Dewbre said. “Cyclones went to this competition as a team, with one goal, to win and that’s just what they did.”
Flipz Twisters (junior level 2) finished fourth and Flipz Rain (mini level 1) finished second.
“All of our teams have spent countless extra hours in the gym in the past two weeks to ensure success at this competition. There aren’t words to describe how proud we are of all of them,” Dewbre said.
All three will be joined by the Flipz Thunder (junior level 1) for two competitions in Los Angeles at the end of March and in Anaheim in early April.
“They (Thunder) have also been working very hard to prepare for their first competition of the season,” Dewbre said.
