The Imperial Valley College baseball team lost to Palomar College, 6-3, in a Pacific Coast Athletic Conference game here Tuesday.
For the Arabs, Chris Gonzalez went 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Oscar Ruiz went 2-for-3 with two runs. Jacinto Garcia went 1-for-3 with an RBI.
IVC (12-18, 7-14 PCAC) will play at Grossmont College at 2 p.m. Thursday in El Cajon.
SOFTBALL
Wildcats lose to Yuma, 6-2
BRAWLEY — The Brawley Union High softball team lost to Yuma High, 6-2, in a nonleague game here Monday.
Bree Rogers suffered the loss for Brawley. She pitched seven innings, gave up 11 hits and four earned runs. She had three strikeouts.
Also for Brawley, Hannah Rodriguez had a walk and a run. Jocelyn Nuñez went 1-for-2 with a run. Samantha Lima went 1-for-3 with two RBIs.
Brawley plays at Imperial High at 6:30 p.m. today.
Southwest beats Holtville, 6-0
HOLTVILLE — The Southwest High softball team beat Holtville High, 6-0, in an Imperial Valley League game here Tuesday.
Maci Lerno recorded the win for the Eagles. She had six strikeouts, gave up four hits and three walks.
For the Eagles, Evalyn Cota went 2-for-4 with a triple and three RBIs. Taylor Ross went 3-for-4 with a double. Cheyenne Robinson went 2-for-4. Celeste Bernal went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Lerno and Kaitlin Williams had a hit each.
For the Vikings, Aslynn Rubin, Allynee Rubin, Lexi Angulo and Cassandra Ramos had a hit each.
Southwest (14-7, 5-1 IVL) will play at Palo Verde Valley High at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
BASEBALL
Wildcats beat Eagles, 3-2
BRAWLEY — The Brawley Union High baseball team beat Southwest High, 3-2, in an Imperial Valley League game here Tuesday.
Jason Sanchez pitched six innings and gave up two runs, three hits and had nine strikeouts. Sanchez is 3-1. Donovan Buck recorded the save.
For Brawley, Tristan Carranza went 2-for-3 with two runs. Christian Delgado went 1-for-2 with a run and an RBI.
Sanchez went 2-for-3 and Josh Fargo had a sacrifice fly.
Brawley (10-6, 4-1 IVL) will play at Holtville High at 6 p.m. Friday.
