SAN BERNARDINO — The Imperial Valley Pumas Premier under-10 girls’ soccer club won its division at the Platinum Spring Friendlies Soccer Tournament here this past weekend.
Pumas finished 3-1, beating the Bakersfield Runners, 3-0, in a rain-soaked championship game.
Dayleth Palacios scored two goals in the championship and finished with four goals in the tournament. Ivana Castro scored two in the tournament, including one in the championship.
Elizabeth Ramirez scored a goal in Pumas’ 3-2 win over the Hemet Juventus to advance to the championship. Goalkeeper Ashley Quiroz recorded the shutout in the championship.
Pumas are seeking players for the upcoming Presidio League season in San Diego. Girls interested in joining the team should be born after Aug. 1, 2002, and can call Manuel Ramirez at 760-965-6002.
