Not in recent memory has the race for the Imperial Valley League title in softball and baseball been such a closely contested battle. In softball, two teams are battling for the league title but a couple others still have a say-so in who gets the crown. In baseball, four teams are battling for sole possession of the title.
In softball, Southwest High leads league with a record of 9-1 while Imperial High trails (8-2).
In baseball, Brawley Union High leads (7-2), while Central Union High (6-3), Calexico High (5-3), Holtville High (4-4) and Southwest High (4-4) still have shots at the title, or at least a share of the title.
