Both squads finish undefeated to clinch league titles.
The Central Union High boys’ track and field team added its third consecutive Imperial Valley League title while the Southwest High girls ended a seven-year drought. The dual season ended Thursday with both squads finishing undefeated.
The Eagles girls’ squad played its final dual meet of the season against Holtville High while the Spartans clinched the title Monday against Palo Verde Valley High. Southwest beat Holtville, 112-9. Look in SCOREBOARD for results from Southwest’s meet against Holtville.
Next in track and field is the IVL finals with the prelims at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Central and the finals at 6 p.m. May 11 at Blythe.
