Two days’ 36 holes of tough high school competition have come to an end, and as with other years, the John Kirchenbauer Memorial Desert Classic golf tournament was a success.
The tournament featured 14 teams from San Diego and the Imperial Valley which competed in the annual tournament at Barbara Worth Country Club in Holtville.
The winning team was La Costa Canyon which collectively shot a 775.
Of the three local teams that competed, Brawley Union High scored a 918, Central Union had a 1062 and Southwest did not score due to not having five golfers on the second day.
The medalist of the tournament was Justin Beck of La Costa Canyon, who finished with 141.
The highest-placing individual from the Valley was Joe Borchard of Southwest, who shot a two-day total 171.
