The Imperial Valley Archery Club is set to host the inaugural Round 900 Tournament on April 14 at the Jacques ‘N Jills archery range in El Centro.

“We invite all the people in the Imperial Valley so they can see what an archery tournament is,” I.V. Archery Club assistant instructor Amparo Gomez said. “Even if they don’t participate, we invite them to come and watch.”

Gomez said about 25 people have registered so far but about 70 are expected for the day of the tournament. Most are out-of-town competitors from clubs in Mexicali, Tijuana and Ensenada.

“In reality, the people in the Valley, many don’t know we’re going to have this tournament,” she said.

The tournament will start with practice from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and the competition will be from 9:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.

The tournament is open to competitors of different ages and levels.
