SATURDAY: 3-on-3 basketball tournament 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., DG Courts, El Centro
The El Centro Moose Lodge and Sports League will be holding a Final Four 3-on-3 Basketball tournament from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the DG Courts at 1900 S. Sixth St. in El Centro. There will be four teams participating with two advancing to play at the “Hoops at the Beach” on May 20 in San Diego. This tournament is free to the public. The Sports League is a youth athletic club established in 2008. Boys and girls are invited to play and learn different sports throughout the school year with good sportsmanship and teamwork are emphasized.
Calexico youth football camp 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Calexico
Bulldog Football will be holding its spring youth football camp Saturday at No Name Field in Calexico. Registration is from 8 to 9 a.m. and the camp will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost is $15 per camper which includes a camp T-shirt, lunch and drinks. Youths in grades third through eighth are invited. Make checks payable to the Calexico Gridiron Boostarz Club.
Imperial youth football camp 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Imperial High
The Imperial High football team will have its Football Camp of Champions from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Shimamoto/Simpson Field in Imperial. The camp is open to youths grades three through eight. Cost is $35 with lunch included and registration starting at 7:30 a.m. This camp is put on by the Imperial High coaching staff and is designed to teach the kids proper techniques, skills, training, conditioning, good sportsmanship and being a winner in sports, school and life. Each camper should wear a red, white or grey T-shirt, shorts, cleats and a positive attitude. Camp T-shirts are available only by advance order for $10 each. Advance registration is encouraged. Home run derby 9 a.m., Sunbeam Lake
The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Imperial Valley and Rudy Seanez Sports Academy to host the Take me out to the Ballgame Home run Derby at 9 a.m. Saturday at Sunbeam Lake. There are four softball hitting categories, girls 13-17, boys 13-17, women 18 and over and men 18 and over. The home run derby will follow major league rules. Elimination rounds will start promptly at 9 a.m. and will conclude with the three finalists in each category hitting against Major League World Series pitcher Rudy Seanez.
