Central’s 111th senior class completes its journey

EL CENTRO — Tuesday was high school graduation night here, and while rival Southwest High School was minting its new alumni on the edge of town, Central Union was celebrating the finales of 398 high school careers during its 111th commencement.

Nearly 23 percent of the Central Union High School Class of 2019 graduated with Latin honors. There were four summa cum laude (“with highest praise”) graduates, 30 magna cum laude (“with great praise”) and 57 cum laude (“with praise”), for a total of 91 honors grads in all.
