Assistant DA Owen wins case for (most) budget adjustments

EL CENTRO — Imperial County Assistant District Attorney Deborah Owen took the Board of Supervisors to task Tuesday during a passionate augmentation appeal on her department’s budget.

She believes the initial denial not to recommend some of the budget requests were retaliatory in nature due to the DA’s office threatening to strike earlier this year.

Debra Owen took the Board of Supervisors to the woodshed over the budget and won. Too bad she won’t prosecute child sex crimes with the same passion. She’s too worried about her conviction percentage so children are molested at an alarming rate in Imperial County and nobody goes to jail. She’s tough on the predominantly senior citizen BOS populated by grifters like Mike Kelley and Raymond Castillo but a coward in the courtroom when it comes to children. Ask anyone.
