EL CENTRO – The Bureau of Land Management will host a public scoping meeting in El Centro on March 2 to discuss the consideration of amending three land use plans related to the Desert Renewable Energy Conservation Plan (DRECP).

The public is encouraged to provide input on how land designations identified as part of the DRECP process might affect development of solar, wind or other renewable energy resources within the approximate 10.8 million acres of BLM-managed public land covered by DRECP.

Staff Writer Julio Morales can be reached at or 760-337-3415.
