NAVAL AIR FACILITY EL CENTRO — Within minutes of ground crews stepping on the tarmac here, estimated time of arrival was 25 minutes for the Blue Angels landing from home base Pensacola, Florida. Maneuvering in a perfect “delta turn-out” the team hit their mark on the money.

“Whenever the Blue Angels show up in January it heralds a re-opening of the base,” said Kristopher Haugh, NAF El Centro public affairs officer. “That tells everybody the skies will be filled with planes again.”
