Calexico looks to plant hundreds of trees

CALEXICO — Nearly 1,600 trees could be added to strategic sites throughout the city as part of an urban green infrastructure project the city is proposing.

The proposed project would target five areas and would help improve air quality, mitigate the effect of the city’s urban heat island and sequester carbon.
