CALEXICO — Recently approved revisions to the city’s taxi cab ordinance will increase the financial penalty for individuals operating as raiteros, or unlicensed taxis, as well as impose fines on their passengers.

The revised ordinance was unanimously approved by the City Council at its Sept. 4 regular meeting and is expected to go into effect in mid-October.
