CALEXICO — The city’s finance director has been added to a new defamation claim filed by the Calexico Police Officers’ Association after obtaining a leaked internal memo noting pay increases requested for three city officials for what the association perceives as attacks against its membership.

Finance Director John Quinn, Police Chief Michael Bostic and City Manager Richard Warne “are conspiring to line their pockets with hefty salaries in exchange for suppressing the police association’s union rights,” according to CPOA President Luis Casillas in a press statement released Monday.
