BRAWLEY — The next generation of rodeo royalty learned straight from the horse’s mouth what it takes to be the queen at Cattle Call Queen Boot Camp here at the arena on Saturday.

The camp was a workshop for aspiring queens and their court — teen queen, junior queen and little miss — that explained how to prepare for the contest, noted Alexis Brown, Cattle Call Queen Committee co-chair. This is the 60th year of the contest that culminates with the queen’s coronation on Oct. 1.
