Community lauds Calipatria prison inmates’ fundraiser

CALIPATRIA — Calipatria State Prison inmates who recently sold more than 6,000 pizzas within the institution raised slightly more than $30,000 to distribute to several local nonprofits and entities.

On Wednesday, several representatives of the organizations were invited to the institution for a check presentation and to meet some of the participating inmates.
