Correctional officer accused of smuggling drugs into prison

A correctional officer at Centinela State Prison is accused of smuggling drugs into the prison and was arrested and booked into Imperial County jail on Tuesday. 

Ramon A. Rosales, 41, of El Centro has been a correctional officer for 18 years, all at Centinela, and he’s suspected of bribery, conspiracy, possession of a controlled substance for sale, transportation of a controlled substance and bringing a controlled substance into a state prison, said Centinela Public Information Officer/Administrative Assistant Jose Salcido.
