Council member urges Assembly to bolster TCIF

SACRAMENTO — El Centro Councilwoman Cheryl Viegas-Walker, president of the Southern California Association of Governments, on Monday called on California lawmakers to approve a bill expanding the state’s Trade Corridor Improvement Fund (TCIF) stated a press release from SCAG.

Testifying before the Assembly Transportation Committee, Viegas-Walker called goods movement “the lifeblood of our state’s economy” and urged support of Assembly Bill 2170 that would deposit new money from the federal government into a successful program that invests in freight infrastructure.
